Alcatel on touch pixie 4. Hardware platform: processor, memory, performance

Accelerometer(or G-sensor) - sensor of the device’s position in space. As a main function, the accelerometer is used to automatically change the orientation of the image on the display (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer; it can control various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope- a sensor that measures rotation angles relative to a fixed coordinate system. Capable of measuring rotation angles in several planes simultaneously. A gyroscope together with an accelerometer allows you to accurately determine the position of the device in space. Devices that use only accelerometers have lower measurement accuracy, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor- a sensor that sets the optimal brightness and contrast values for a given light level. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Proximity sensor- a sensor that detects when the device is close to your face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental clicks. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Geomagnetic sensor- a sensor for determining the direction of the world in which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the magnetic poles of the Earth. The information received from the sensor is used in mapping programs for terrain orientation.
Atmospheric pressure sensor- sensor for precise measurement of atmospheric pressure. It is part of the GPS system, allows you to determine altitude above sea level and speed up location determination.
Touch ID- fingerprint identification sensor.

Satellite navigation:

GPS(Global Positioning System) is a satellite navigation system that provides measurements of distance, time, speed and determines the location of objects anywhere on Earth. The system is developed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The basic principle of using the system is to determine location by measuring distances to an object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated by the delay time of signal propagation from sending it by the satellite to receiving it by the antenna of the GPS receiver.
GLONASS(Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measurement principle is similar to the American GPS navigation system. GLONASS is designed for operational navigation and timing support for land, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion do not have resonance (synchrony) with the rotation of the Earth, which provides them with greater stability.

Hi all!

A month ago I bought myself a new phone and decided to talk about it.

The amount I could count on was a maximum of 5 thousand rubles.

I admit that I don’t understand phones at all, I wanted a bigger screen, a better camera and... that’s it.

I’m probably a completely ignorant person, but I only need a phone to make calls and take photos))) I don’t even go online from my phone, a computer is enough.

Well, in general, I outlined everything that I described here to the sales consultant, and he offered me this phone Alcatel Van Touch Pixie 3. He said that in this price category this is the most profitable model. I had a Samsung before, and I started looking at Samsungs within 5 thousand rubles.

But the seller again strongly offered me this smartphone.

The phone cost me 4,490 rubles, of which 600 rubles were deposited into my account (there was such a promotion in Megafon stores).

I immediately bought a case for the phone, the photo was already in the case, I didn’t change it.

A phone with two SIM cards, a bunch of programs were immediately installed: antivirus, viber, WhatsApp, some games, a flashlight...

DID NOT LIKE

The camera is still stupid (or my hands are stupid)! When I want to take a photo and press a button on the sensor, I never get one photo, there are 3, 5, 9, but always more than one. For some reason this will turn out to be such nonsense!

And the front camera is only 0.3 megapixels.

Otherwise, there are no complaints so far, the phone does not slow down, the speakers do not hiss, the charge holds well, I liked that there is a stopwatch and countdown. Excellent for this price!

Includes AC charger with USB connector and headphones.

Made in China.

The Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D smartphone went on sale in 2015. You can buy it for $54, subject to signing a contract with the operator. The cost without a contract reaches $65. There are several model options, with different versions of the operating system. There is also a single-SIM version, distinguished by the prefix 4027X in the name. There is another variation, with 1 GB of RAM, a different processor and 4G support. Same appearance, same name - Alcatel Pixi 3, but with the 5017D prefix. This review will focus on the Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (4.5) 4027D. This is a very budget model for people who want to get a smartphone for minimal money.

Specifications Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (4.5) 4027D

Considering the price, the device lags behind other Chinese manufacturers in terms of characteristics, and is stuck somewhere in 2013.

Design

The appearance of the device does not stand out in anything remarkable: it is a typical rectangular brick with rounded edges. The only unusual thing to note is the huge touch buttons under the screen, which are not backlit. The lid has a soft-touch coating, so the device feels confident in your hands. The body height is 132.2 mm, width is 65.1 mm, and thickness is 11.7 mm - the smartphone can be considered thick by modern standards. Its weight is 151 grams.

CPU

The hardware is based on a very budget 2-core MediaTek MT6572 processor. The operating frequency of the processor is 1.2 GHz; there is conflicting information on this matter in different sources. The Mali-400 MP 500 MHz video chip is responsible for graphics processing. This hardware allows the smartphone to perform trivial tasks: calls, social networks, watching videos, launching applications, web surfing, navigation. The Antutu synthetic test estimates the smartphone's performance at approximately 12 thousand points.

However, given the insufficient amount of RAM, the user may experience a noticeable lack of performance. For example, the interface sometimes slows down. The speed of launching applications and switching between them leaves much to be desired. Videos on YouTube play normally in low resolution, but you won’t be able to watch online videos normally in a browser. Simple games a la Angry Birds run without problems. In resource-intensive 3D games, stuttering will sometimes be noticeable. And no graphics settings will help: there is too little RAM.

Memory

The manufacturer saved on RAM: in the Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D its volume is only 512 MB. To work comfortably with a smartphone, this is not enough; you need at least 1 GB of RAM. Periodic slowdowns in the operation of the device that occur when trying to load it with more than one simple task are proof of this.

The capacity of the built-in storage is also negligible: 4 GB, of which about 2 GB is available to the user. This is barely enough to install the necessary software; any games are out of the question. However, despite the limitation of the operating system, the manufacturer has added the ability to select the location for installing applications. External microSD drives up to 32 GB are supported.

Autonomous operation

Power for autonomous operation comes from a 1400 mAh battery. Not enough, but the hardware is quite modest and consumes energy sparingly. The charge is enough for one day of light if you use the device for infrequent calls and communication on social networks. In games, the battery can be completely drained in 3 - 3.5 hours. The maximum video viewing time on one charge is about 4 hours. The included charger, when connected to the network, replenishes the charge level to 100% in about 2.5 hours.

Camera

Alcatel Pixi 3 is equipped with a 5 MP main camera. The quality of the resulting photos is unsatisfactory, but quite consistent with the price category of the smartphone. The general blurriness of the images, the lack of proper detail is, in general, a standard situation. You can use the flash to take pictures in low light. The camera is not equipped with autofocus, so photos can often be “out of focus,” especially if you try to take a photo at close range. There is an HDR mode, but it doesn't help the situation. Videos can be recorded at a resolution of 1280 x 720, although in the settings the maximum available resolution is 840 x 480. The quality of the resulting videos is much better than photos.

The 0.3 megapixel front camera with interpolation up to 2 megapixels also does not produce good results. But it can be useful for video communication.

Display

The smartphone has a 4.5-inch TFT display. The smartphone manufacturer “forgot” to clarify the technology used to make the matrix. Judging by the not-so-high viewing angles, we can assume that this is a TN matrix. The screen resolution is 854 x 480 pixels, pixel density is 218 ppi. However, the screen cannot be called terrible - viewing angles and image quality are quite acceptable. The touchscreen recognizes 2 touches simultaneously. There is no adaptive brightness control. The maximum brightness reserve is not conducive to using the device in bright sunshine. But for indoor use, the brightness of the display is quite enough.

Network communications

Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D can work with two SIMs; they are installed in the corresponding slots under the battery. 2G GSM and 3G communication standards are supported. The smartphone has a GPS navigation module with support for A-GPS technology. It “clings” to satellites without problems, the connection is stable. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 data transmission technologies are supported.

Sound

The main audio speaker is loud enough to not miss a call or alarm. You don't need anything more from it for such a price. There are no complaints about the conversational speaker; the interlocutor can be heard normally. The sound in the headphones is acceptable, nothing unusual.

Software

Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. In the settings there is a “Software Update” item, however, you should not expect a newer version of the OS from the manufacturer. But on w3bsit3-dns.com there are a lot of firmware for this device, including CyanogenMod 12.1, based on Android 5.1.1. This device can also be found with Firefox 2.0 and Windows 8.1 OS. But such offers, most likely, will not be available to our market.

Distinctive features

There is an event indicator on the front panel. It lets you know if there are missed calls or notifications without unlocking the screen. An event indicator light in an ultra-budget segment device is a very rare occurrence.

Gestures that use the accelerometer are also supported: hang up the call and turn off the alarm by rotating the screen down, and changing the playing track by shaking the smartphone.

Pros and cons of Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D

Pros:

  • event indicator light;
  • Gesture support;
  • not the worst display.

Minuses:

  • only 512 MB of RAM, the lack of RAM is felt due to periodic freezes of the interface and applications;
  • with such a thick case (11.7 mm), they could install a more capacious battery;
  • little built-in memory.

Our review of the Alcatel Pixi 3 4027D smartphone

The quality of shooting from both cameras was deliberately not included in the list of shortcomings. At the moment, the cameras are quite consistent with the price of the device. Otherwise, Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (4.5) 4027D is an entry-level smartphone. Designed for people who need an affordable Android mobile device with support for 2 SIM, WiFi and 3G. And also for those who are looking for a cheap device from a more or less well-known manufacturer, but are not yet aware that Alcatel is no longer a French company. This is a Chinese device, and for a similar price there are much more attractive devices, both in appearance and in characteristics.

Alcatel One Touch POP 3 5025D: review of a budget smartphone with a large screen

When we started writing this article, or rather a mini-review, we thought about the “introductory part” for quite some time. How can we present a new product, sales of which began not so long ago in the Beeline operator’s communication stores, as another budget smartphone with LTE or as another bright representative of the PIXI 3 Family line from Alcatel. In principle, both approaches to the announcement are fair. In January 2015, at CES 2015, Alcatel announced the launch of a new line of Alcatel OneTouch smartphones, called PIXI 3. Within this line, quite a lot of devices were announced, which is not difficult to get confused about. Judge for yourself, if earlier, for example, in response to the question “What phone do you have?”, for example, Nokia or Samsung - everything was more or less clear, now, even if the owner answers you - Alcatel PIXI3, then this is not will say absolutely nothing. Why? Because the PIXI3 line of smartphones has many different modifications. There are both 3G and 4G/LTE devices here. Screen sizes also differ within the line, so you can find 3.5" devices that fit in your pocket or their 5" versions. At the same time, some of the models differ not only in screen diagonal, the presence or absence of 4G (and therefore different chips used in a smartphone), but also the OS installed on them - in the PIXI 3 line you can find both the familiar Android or Windows Phone, and Firefox OS. Which, of course, introduces some confusion. The only way to “identify” a particular phone model of this family is indication of the model, i.e. its number.

And in today's mini-review we will look at Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) 5017X. Here you need to pay attention to the model - 5017X, because... in the PIXI 3 line there are several different devices with a 4.5" screen, even similar in appearance, but at the same time having completely different technical characteristics. Returning to our device (5017X), we note that its sales started in Beeline just last week and the price of the device is within the framework of the promotion, i.e. when connecting to a certain package of services, it is only 3990 rubles. Which, you see, is not so expensive for an LTE smartphone with a 4.5" display and modern Android 5.1 on board. We would like to note in advance that MTS also sells a 4.5" device from the PIXI3 family, but this is a completely different model - 4027D, which does not have 4G/LTE due to an earlier chip from MediaTek, which simply does not support it. We once again emphasize your attention specifically to the model, since the name Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) in this case only indicates that the device belongs to a certain line, but does not in any way reveal its technical characteristics.

In this review, one of the bloggers has already compared the 4027D and 5017X models, so we will not dwell on the comparison in detail. And let's move on directly to considering the technical characteristics of our device.

Specifications Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) 5017X

  • CPU- 4-core MT6735M, 1 GHz
  • Memory- RAM 1 GB + ROM 8 GB, support MicroSD up to 32 GB. At the same time, by default, about 3.5 GB of free space is available for storing user data. By the way, this is a general trend in smartphones with Android Lollipop, i.e. If the device comes with Android 5.x and the specifications indicate 8 Gb of internal memory, be prepared for the fact that about half of it, i.e. The OS itself takes up about 4 Gb
  • operating system- Android Lollipop 5.1
  • Display- TFT, 4.5 inches, 480*854; color 16M
  • Standards and Ranges- 2G (GSM Quadband 850/900/1800/1900), 3G (UMTS Quadband 850/900/1900/2100), 4G (LTE B1/3/7/8/20)
  • Camera- main camera 5 MPix, front camera - 0.3 MPix

Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) 5017X (front view)

Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) 5017X (rear view)

As you can see, the device fits quite easily (and comfortably) in your hand. The case is made in the form of a candy bar on the front panel of which there is a speaker and touch control buttons in the form of a triangle, circle and square. These are the styles used by the Android 5.1 operating system for smartphones that do not have hardware control buttons. Here they are, so you don’t have to worry about the space taken up on the screen with “soft” control buttons. On the back everything is standard - Alcatel OneTouch and Pixi logos, as well as a 5 MPix main camera and LED flash. On the right side of the case there is a volume rocker and a power button, at the bottom there is a connector for connecting a microUSB cable and charging:

The smartphone comes in three colors - black, white and pink. We got black, or rather volcanic black (Volcano Black), as Alcatel correctly calls it. After turning on the device for the first time, it seemed to us that it took quite a long time to initialize, but the initial setup of a connection to the WiFi network and a Google account did not take much time, and the Android 5.1 desktop appeared before us. A few screenshots from the interface you can see below:

As you can see, the user-available memory in the device by default is approximately 3.50 GB, and in the popular AnTuTu Benchmark v5.7.1 test, the Alcatel 5017X scores 19,421 points, which is quite a decent result for a budget device with LTE. As for communications, the device caught the network quickly and without problems, there are no particular complaints about the quality of transmission of spoken language (we read “as everywhere else”), however, do not forget that if you purchased this device from Beeline, then by default you will be able to use it is only available with SIM cards from this operator (there is even a corresponding inscription about this on the box “the smartphone is initially configured to work in the Beeline network”). When you try to insert a SIM from another operator into it, the Alcatel 5017X will ask you for a special device code (network unlock code):

After successfully entering this, the phone can be used with any SIM. One way to obtain an unlock code is to order it on our trading platform. The advantage of this method is to instantly receive the network unlock code for Alcatel 5017X at any time convenient for you. To place an order, you will need to know the IMEI of your device (15-digit number), which can be found on the sticker / on the box or, better yet, by typing the combination on the phone itself *#06# .

    good phone for the money

no breakage, good screen, good camera

I have 1GB of RAM, it's already been flying fast and nothing. Overall, an excellent phone for the money

Everything is the same as with other people: unbreakable, the strongest smartphone, of all the ones I’ve seen, I don’t have 1 layer of glass, but it doesn’t matter, it still continues to work, as if nothing had happened, after that , as I broke it, the battery consumption became less, there were fewer lags, so I recommend it for handy people.

I would like to share my impressions about this device. The device was purchased from some alcoholic for 500 rubles as a regular dialer and client on VK. It turned out that the phone was not made for the average user at all, but apparently for fans of extreme sports, miners, crane operators who work on the construction of skyscrapers, since no doubt it would also have withstood a fall from such a height (more on this later), perhaps for spelionists, or people studying volcanoes. This little, ever-glitchy, unprepossessing and fat handsome man provided me with incomparable assistance in auto mechanics, shining his, for some unknown reason, ever-fading flashlight into the bowels of my car; I have no doubt that, if necessary, I could jack up the car using it as a spacer. The battery ran out quickly......................

512MB of RAM is very little, slow

The battery, of course, is the main minus, the biggest one, and most importantly, you can’t find analogues. Well, the back cover is very slippery. The camera, or rather the built-in program, the camera is terrible. But when you install a third-party application, it transforms and takes good pictures.

The photo taken with this camera is a little blurry; - A lot of unnecessary software. But on the other hand, this is good, I like to conduct experiments on smartphones such as rooting and manually editing system files; - I bought it once only for making calls and setting up the system (I also like delving into the settings). Now 462MB of RAM (not even 512MB!) and 1GB of internal memory are not enough for me. RAM memory is often 80% or more full. This gives a very strong braking effect!

Camera is bad. The memory is too small, I only have 27 MB of free memory left, but I have no applications installed. Battery consumption is also bad, but it suits me.

Then he didn’t feel very well, but the situation quickly improved by blowing the compressor to three atmospheres. Dirty spots, apparently deposited on the backlight sheet in the screen, healed like bruises on the body over time, leaving no trace, which suggests that during its assembly organic materials were clearly used that can work as regenerative functions, which the producers of the naughty girl unfortunately kept silent about) Fall from a height of two meters, the completely unprotected, completely bare screen seemed to finish off our baby, showing this by the fact that the sensor stopped working in certain areas. But no. With a little effort and the characteristic crunch of small glass, the screen returned to its previous level. No cracks or chips, work continues as usual. Perhaps it is my
