First level cache (L1)

Cache memory is used by the processor to reduce access time to more frequently accessed data and instructions. L1 (level 1) cache is small and much faster than both system memory and other cache levels. If the processor does not find the requested data in L1, it continues to look for them in the L2 cache. With some processors, this search is performed simultaneously in L1 and L2.

32 kB + 32 kB (kilobytes)
Second level cache (L2)

L2 (level 2) cache is slower than L1, but in return it has a larger capacity, allowing more data to be cached. It, like L1, is much faster than system memory (RAM). If the processor does not find the requested data in L2, it continues to look for it in the L3 cache (if available) or RAM.

The South Korean company LG is one of the few who from year to year continues not only to release new smartphones, but also to experiment, and often boldly and unexpectedly. Let's take a few flagships from LG as an illustrative example, because it is on them that the company most often tests new technologies and solutions. For example, in the LG G5SE, for the first time, the manufacturer used a dual camera: two modules for shooting were made not just to stand out, but with a very clear purpose. One module allows you to take photos in the usual way and with the usual viewing angle, when exactly as much is placed in the frame as we are used to seeing in the camera of any smartphone. The second module is wide-angle and is designed for shooting landscapes and moments when you want to capture as much space as possible in the frame. Where on another smartphone you have to turn on the panorama mode and move the camera left and right while the system stitches together many frames, in the LG G5SE it is enough to switch to the wide-angle camera and take one picture. Comfortable!

The second example is LG V10. The original smartphone of the company: powerful, stylish, with a chic camera, but many people remember it not because of these things, but because of the second display. Above the main display in the LG V10, a small OLED display was placed, which displays useful information: time, date, missed events. Moreover, the screen is always on, and it does not need to be activated additionally. In practice, this turned out to be very convenient. Taking your smartphone out of your pocket, you do not need to touch the display or keys to see what time it is and if there are any missed notifications.

It would seem that experimental chips should continue to be used in expensive devices, but LG decided otherwise. The company transferred some of the capabilities to the smartphones of its new X-series - four interesting devices, each of which has an original zest and is unlike not only other models in this series, but generally other smartphones in the middle price segment. Let's take a look at LG X view, X cam, X power and X style!

LG X view

The three main things to know about the LG X view are that it's compact, made of fiberglass and comes with a second display. Thanks to the 4.93"" main display, the phone is small, comfortable to hold, easy to talk on, and can be used with one hand. And due to the use of durable fiberglass, from which the front and back panels of the smartphone are made, the device is lightweight and resistant to scratches. Of course, with active use, such a coating gets dirty, but in LG X view, both panels have a good oleophobic layer, so marks and prints can be easily removed. But due to the glossy surfaces, the smartphone looks impressive and unusual. There are three body colors for the LG X view - black, white and soft pink. The last option is perfect for girls, and the first two are universal.

But the main thing here is the second display. In addition to the main display with a diagonal of 4.93"" and HD resolution of 1280x720 pixels, the LG X view has a second one with a diagonal of 1.76"" and a resolution of 520x80 pixels. What is it for? Firstly, the additional screen is always active, unlike the main one, even when you are not using your smartphone. At this time, the second display shows your signature or the current time, date and battery level, as well as swiping up a menu to launch a flashlight, turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and adjust the volume. Comfortable. Secondly, it displays notifications such as new messages, calls and others, regardless of whether you are currently using a smartphone or the main display is turned off. This means that notifications about new events do not interfere with your work with information on the main screen, because they are shown on the second screen and at the same time do not interrupt the work of the main display. For example, an incoming call icon appears on the second display, which means it does not overlap the main screen while running a navigator, playing a game, or watching a video. Finally, thirdly, you can display icons of frequently used programs on the secondary display to launch them as quickly as possible, even if you are currently in an application or in a game on the main display.

LG Xcam

The LG X cam pays just as much attention to design as the X view. A thin and neat case in titanium, gold or rose gold colors in soft tones, smooth curves, made “under the metal” and a slightly curved front panel - these details together create a single image of the device. The smartphone looks expensive and spectacular, despite the fact that seemingly familiar plastic and glass are used here. The dimensions are moderate, while the smartphone is equipped with a 5.2 '' screen based on a high-quality IPS-matrix with Full HD resolution.

However, the design here is still in the background, in the foreground is a dual camera. The LG X cam has two main cameras - one with a normal shooting angle and a resolution of 13 megapixels, the second is a wide-angle one with a resolution of 5 megapixels. What is it for? The most obvious example is a group portrait or shooting in a small room. In both cases, it is often necessary to “fit” a lot of people or objects into the camera at once, and the viewing angle is small, and everything does not fit in any way. This is where a camera with a wide shooting angle is needed, which captures several times more space in the frame. The first, 13 MP camera in LG X cam has a shooting angle of 78 degrees, in fact, almost the same as in other smartphones. But the second, 5 megapixel camera has an angle of 120 degrees, feel the difference!

Switching between cameras is implemented as simply as possible - by pressing a single button in shooting mode. In addition to the usual resolution settings, the device can use special color filters, as well as shoot in unusual modes. One of them is collages. By selecting this mode, you can take a photo in the frame of a fisheye photo (when the picture seems to be convex), put the picture on film, like on old film cameras, and so on. And, of course, like any other smartphone from LG, X cam allows you to take a selfie on the front camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels without touching the screen. It is enough to start the camera, and the device itself will take a photo! The lens automatically recognizes the user's face, starts a three-second countdown, and the smartphone takes a picture. The main thing is not to forget to enable the "Auto Capture" option in the camera settings. For fans of photos by voice command or gesture, the “shoot by hand gesture” function, as well as the ability to say “cheese”, “smiley”, “whiskey”, “kimchi” or “alji” remained in the list of available ones.

LG X power

How often does it happen that, even running out of the house with a fully charged smartphone, by the middle of the day we find ourselves with a completely discharged one? Social networking during lunch, a dozen or two photos on the way to the office, phone calls all day, using the Internet for small things, and the battery is literally melting before our eyes. In LG X power, the main feature is a high-capacity battery, 4100 mAh, so that the smartphone does not work 5-6 hours on a single charge, as is often the case with modern devices, but at least the whole day, from morning to night. And with less active use, one charge is enough for two days or more. In addition, thanks to USB On-The-Go support, the new LG X power can be used as an external battery, charging other devices with it, such as a loved one's smartphone or a friend's phone. LG X power supports fast charging and can be charged up to 100% in less than 2 hours.

What else? Wide 5.3" HD display, 13MP and 5MP main and front cameras with selectable color filters and convenient Selfie Selfie function, as well as taking a selfie with a voice command or a clenched hand in front of the camera, 2 GB of RAM memory, microSD card slot. In a word, everything is in place.

LG X power is not only long-lasting, but also practical. For this smartphone, the company has chosen a textured cover and a thin body of only 7.9 millimeters thick, due to which the smartphone is comfortable to hold even with wet hands, it does not slip or get dirty. And the presence of three colors - indigo, white and gold - will allow you to choose the device exactly to your taste.

LG X style

"Design is not the point." I said this when talking about previous devices. And now, the smartphone is next in line, where design is the main thing. LG X style is a very thin smartphone, the thickness of the device is only 6.9 mm, while it does not cut the edges into the palm like some other thin phones, it is convenient and comfortable to hold it. The front panel is tempered glass, resistant to scratches and prints, the reverse side is plastic. Fans of different color schemes have plenty to choose from, the smartphone is presented in titanium, white and gold colors. The frame in LG X stule is made “under the metal”, and in fact, it is practically impossible to distinguish it from real metal without touching the surface.

The smartphone uses a screen with a diagonal of 5 "" and HD-resolution, one and a half gigabytes of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory with a slot for a microSD card. The main 8 megapixel camera allows you to take bright pictures, and the front camera allows you to take selfies without touching the screen and smartphone keys, just point the camera and freeze for a couple of seconds, thanks to the “Auto Capture” mode, the picture will be ready in a matter of moments. Both cameras are equipped with "film" filters with various effects, which can be applied both to shots taken with the main lens and to selfies taken by the front.

It would seem that often smartphones, united by the common name of the line, are very similar to each other. However, LG, in its X-series, on the contrary, has assembled completely different devices.

LG X view is a spectacular and compact fiberglass smartphone with a very unusual "chip" - a second display. It is worth using the device, and you get used to the second display without noticing it.

LG X cam is a neat, handy smartphone with good features and a very useful option for those who like to take photos in different situations and genres - two cameras. The first camera is for traditional shooting, the second is for those moments when you need to capture as much as possible in the frame!

LG X power is a thin and practical device for those who need to stay connected all day long, having a charged smartphone and being sure that it will not sit down by the middle of the day. The 4100 mAh battery in this device is what you need.

The LG X style is a beautiful and easy-to-use smartphone: light, thin, elegant, comfortable - what more do you want from an inexpensive phone?

By the way, all the listed smartphones support LTE and are equipped with two slots for SIM-cards, one of which is universal and also suitable for an SD card. This is a handy feature that is typical for the X series from LG.

"Photosklad.ru"

Smartphones of LG Corporation we know from the G series. These are the flagships of the company, which have proven themselves well. Today we have in our review a representative of the X line, which includes several models: Cam, Style and Power. As part of this line, Cam received a dual camera, Style - a thin body and a smaller diagonal, and Power - an enlarged battery. That's the last thing we'll talk about today.

LG X Power is a mid-range smartphone with extended battery life. Traditionally, let's go through the characteristics briefly:

Display IPS, 16 million colors, capacitive
Display Diagonal 5.3 inches
Display Resolution 1280x720
operating system Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
CPU Mediatek MT6735
video accelerator Mali-T720
RAM 2 GB
ROM size 16 GB
Memory card slot Yes, up to 256 GB, combined with a second SIM slot
rear camera 13 MP
5 MP
Video filming
Number of SIM cards 2 nanoSIM
Interfaces GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS), Bluetooth v4.2 LE, microUSB, 3.5 mm jack, FM radio
Fingerprint's scanner No
fast charging Yes (full charge in 1 hour 50 minutes)
Battery 4100 mAh, non-removable
Weight 139 g
Dimensions 149 x 75 x 7.9g
Colors Golden, white, indigo

As you can see, nothing special, except for a capacious battery and low weight, at first glance, is not visible. Well, let's see how it works.

Box and accessories

The device comes in a fairly standard box with the name of the smartphone on top. Inside, the already familiar standard equipment for this category of smartphones: the smartphone itself, cable, charger, clip-extractor and manual.

Frame

The body of the smartphone is made of aluminum. This is a one-piece monoblock without any backlash and squeaks. Holds perfectly in the hand, no complaints.

Screen

The screen of the device does not strike the imagination - the resolution is only 1280x720 pixels, which is not enough for a smartphone with a diagonal of 5.3 inches. It is made using IPS technology and covered with a third-generation Gorilla Glass protective screen. The colors are bright and saturated.

operating system

The smartphone runs Android 6.0 operating system. The Russian language is, of course, supported. Lags and delays in the animation were not noticed.

Processor and Memory

The device has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory. If the RAM is enough to run most applications, then the permanent memory is still not enough. A microSD card will help solve the problem, the slot for which is prudently installed in a smartphone, but in this case you lose the opportunity to put a second SIM card. In addition, you can connect an external flash drive thanks to USB OTG.

The processor installed is far from the most powerful, frankly speaking, a little outdated - MTK6735. Yes, it will be enough for most applications (for example, the Youtube application opens and plays videos without problems), but you can forget about resource-intensive games. The results of the AnTuTu test confirm this.

Interfaces

The smartphone has the basic necessary interfaces: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Wi-Fi, unfortunately, is only supported in the 2.4 GHz band. There is also an FM radio, which will please those who like to listen to their favorite FM station.

Unfortunately, charging and connecting to a computer takes place using the microUSB connector. I would like the guys from LG to take an example from their Chinese comrades and make a Type-C connector even on such inexpensive models. It is unlikely to be expensive in production, but in everyday use it is much more convenient.

Battery

The capacity of the battery gave this smartphone the name Power. It is an impressive 4100 mAh. With an average use of a smartphone, such a battery will last for 2 days. Fast battery charging is also announced: a full charge cycle will take less than 2 hours, according to the company.

Communication and sound

There are no complaints about the sound, the external and conversational speakers are loud, the sound is clear. The sound in the headphones is also on the level.

The connection quality is decent. The smartphone supports LTE bands 7 and 20, which are the main ones in the Russian Federation. There is no support for the 38 band. This is rather strange, given that LG in Russia is one of the key players in the smartphone market and is trying to supply the most adapted devices for our market as much as possible. In general, this is not critical, but we leave a remark.

Camera

The smartphone, like most brothers, is equipped with one front and one rear camera with LED flash.

The built-in camera app opens in full screen mode. There is a small set of settings, including filters. I liked the feature with the front camera: when you point at the face and freeze for a couple of seconds, the camera takes pictures by itself.

You can judge the quality of the camera from the photos below:

With sufficient lighting, the smartphone shoots well for its level, however, pronounced noises appear in twilight and darkness. The front camera works at 4 minus.

Results

The LG smartphone turned out to be quite a compromise. Rather outdated processor and low-resolution screen is compensated by a large battery, light weight, durable housing and the ability to work with two SIM-cards. There are also interesting software solutions, such as automatically detecting the face and photographing the front camera. For the money they ask for it, it is not the strongest competitor to uncertified devices from Chinese companies (Xiaomi, Meizu and others) - certification of devices in the Russian Federation is quite expensive. However, if you prefer only products with the PCT mark and branded support and warranty throughout Russia, then a smartphone will be a good choice. In addition, there is a small bonus from LG - 100 GB of Google Drive for 2 years.

LG has released a whole line of X smartphones that are not flagships, but each of them received some kind of characteristic feature. X cam is a dual rear camera, X style is a thin body, X view is an additional screen, and X power is a large battery, while a relatively small screen with HD resolution, which (theoretically) will allow the smartphone to really work for a long time on a single charge.

What is this?

LG X power - Android smartphone with 5.3 inch 1280x720 IPS display, MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, dual SIM support, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and 4100 mAh big battery.

What does it look like?

Despite the impressive battery, the smartphone turned out to be quite compact and light. In many ways, thanks to the plastic case and the relatively small screen. The smartphone is available in white, gold and dark blue colors. The blue version looks quite restrained and neat. On the front panel (in addition to the screen) there is an LG logo at the bottom of the case, a set of sensors, a front camera and an LED indicator on top. The case has small bevels at the top and bottom of the front panel. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3rd generation, on top of which a protective film is glued from the factory. It is cheap, but it is better than nothing, and it will not be a pity to remove or replace it.

The back cover is not removed, the card tray is located on the left side. It also has a volume rocker.

You can insert either 2 nanoSIM cards into the tray, or one plus MicroSD up to 32 GB:

Along the perimeter of the case is a decorative frame made of glossy plastic. An additional microphone is placed on the upper end of the smartphone:

On the right side is the power button:

Below is a MicroUSB connector, a microphone for calls and a 3.5 mm headphone jack:

The back panel is made of embossed dark blue practical plastic, which practically does not leave fingerprints. In the middle of the back panel is the LG logo. On top is a camera with a single LED flash and an external speaker on the bottom. A typical and not very practical speaker layout, which is inherent in smartphones of the middle and budget price range. On the table, it is significantly muffled:

The smartphone looks calm and reserved. There are no special claims to the quality of materials and assembly, especially considering the positioning. Plastic is like plastic, and thanks to the non-removable cover, there is nothing special to stagger or creak.

How good is the screen?

LG X power is equipped with a relatively compact (by modern standards) 5.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x720, which gives a pixel density of 277 ppi. It is quite normal for such a diagonal, and it has a positive effect on energy consumption. As already mentioned above, a protective film is pasted from the factory. Its plus is that the screen remains intact, the minus is its quality. It immediately becomes covered with very noticeable scratches out of the blue. The maximum brightness is low and it becomes difficult to read the display in the sun, but the color reproduction is not bad.

Viewing angles are maximum, which is expected for modern IPS screens without an air gap:

Supports multi-touch up to 10 touches:

As expected, the maximum brightness is really low: only 255.957 cd/m 2 , black field brightness 0.29 cd/m 2 and contrast at a good level: 883:1, although it would be wrong to judge by an engineering model, so it's worth looking at the final version. There are no color temperature adjustment utilities, only a reading mode that makes colors warmer. As for its class, the screen is well calibrated, although the usual inaccuracies in color reproduction and color gamut are present:

Comparison with other models:

How are things with performance, memory and autonomy?

The smartphone has budget hardware: a quad-core 64-bit processor MediaTek MT6735 with a maximum frequency of 1.3 GHz, about 2 GB RAM, built-in - 16 GB, memory cards up to 32 GB are supported, but you will need to limit yourself to one SIM card. A little over 10 GB is available out of the box. Such iron is enough for the smooth operation of the interface and applications. For games, the system is not very good. Some games (such as NBA and NFS: No Limits) run fine, although not at maximum settings. In Unkilled, FPS drops noticeably:

The smartphone has Wi-Fi b / g / n (only 2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2 and radio. Required minimum. The GPS module works quickly, it takes no more than 15 seconds for a cold start:

The main feature of the smartphone is a large 4100 mAh battery. He, in the amount of a fairly economical hardware, is able to provide a really impressive battery life. In a very intensive mode, the smartphone works 2 full days without recharging, in a more gentle - without problems it turns out 3 days. So as a "workhorse" smartphone will show itself in the best possible way. From proprietary charging, the smartphone charges for about 2 hours, plus there is support for charging other devices via an OTG cable, which can be very useful.

For those who want to know more

64-bit quad-core processor systemMediaTek MT6735 (4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores at 1.3 GHz) with graphics accelerator Mali-T720 and 2 GB of RAM are expected to give quite poor results in synthetic tests, although the main thing is that the interface and applications work without problems. For lovers of numbers:

Is the interface user friendly?

Out of the box, LG X power runs on the current version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with its own shell, which does not radically change the native interface, but adds a number of useful and convenient features. At the same time, it looks easy and unobtrusive (and it works smartly).

As usual, most of the app icons have been redrawn to their own style. LG does not restrict users to desktops without a separate application menu, as Chinese manufacturers often do. There is also such an option.

But there are also two options with a separate menu of installed applications. Simplified and standard:

This is configured in a separate settings item:

The top curtain is as close as possible to the original from Android Marshmallow. You can customize the display and order of icons and take out (or hide), adjust the brightness and volume:

There is a traditional for LG ability to configure the touch buttons, there can be up to five of them. In particular, you can remove the button for the curtain, screenshot, SIM card management and QSlide:

QSlide - a useful feature that allows you to open some applications in windowed mode:

The settings menu is sorted into separate groups:

And a set of standard applications in the interpretation of LG:

Is the camera good?

The LG camera interface has also been redesigned. And it also turned out to be simple and intuitive. There are buttons for taking photos and videos (without the need for additional settings of modes), viewing previous shots, sharing buttons in social networks and cloud storage, and various shooting modes. You can set shooting by hand gesture and use the screen as a selfie light:

The smartphone has cameras of 13 and 5 megapixels. It's not a camera phone, so you shouldn't expect sky-high quality, but in normal lighting you can get decent photos. In low light, the task becomes much more difficult and the pictures become quite grainy:

In the dry matter

The LG X power is worth a look for users who are looking for an inexpensive smartphone with a large battery, long battery life and a simple, clear interface that works smartly. This - a "workhorse" for those who are not interested in mobile games and the quality of the main camera is not too important, but the emphasis is not to worry about how not to forget or where to recharge the phone by the end of the working day. Definitely the main audience. - those who still do not trust the many Chinese manufacturers that can offer more technically advanced models for the same money.
